Last December 28, my friends and I went to Sri Lanka, specifically in Colombo City. We checked-in in Ceylon Continental Hotel. It’s an upmarket transient hotel, located in the heart of the city, overlooking the Indian Ocean. The hotel is quite nice and suits our budget. There are 10 of us in a group, but we didn’t checked-in on the same hotel. My batch mates Stacey and Anna booked at Galadari Hotel, while Christopher, Mincy and Josh booked at Holed at the Hilton Hotel in Colombo, because they are a big fan of Paris Hilton. WTF right?

Anyway, me, Vince, Louie, Kirsten, and Roy booked at Ceylon. Ceylon is one of the oldest hotels in Colombo and it will be renovated this February 1, 2012, that’s just less than a week from now. We just gathered at Ceylon before we start our day, visiting the places in Sri Lanka that is in our itinerary. We went to 6 cities (excluding Colombo) in the Western province in our first day at Colombo, specifically Dehiwala, Moratuwa, Negombo, Katunayake, Battaramulla, and Kotte. The names of the cities are hard to remember right? It’s just because we’re not used to it.

Wonder how we visited each city without experiencing any hassle? It’s because of our good friend Jarish, Stacey’s boyfriend. He’s our tour guide and he showed us many places to visit in the Western province. We visited a lot of places and I took pictures of various structures and monuments in Sri Lanka. I also learned a lot of things during our vacation in Colombo. Did you know that Sri Lanka is the oldest democracy in South Asia? Now you know!

I really don’t know what are the names of the structures and monuments that I took pictures of. What I remember is the Colombo Lotus Tower which is still under construction and will be completed by next year year. It will be the tallest structure in Sri Lanka once it’s completed. Another place the I remember is the Yala National Park. The Yala National Park is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka! I really love the nature, the wildlife and the animals, that’s why I can’t forget Yala.

Anyway, I’ll be writing more about our trip in Sri Lanka. The places to visit, what to do and where to go in Colombo, and so much more. I’m kinda sleepy now so I have to say goodnight and sweet dreams to whoever you are!

BASIS is likely to prevail on its trademark infringement claim as BASIS holds incontestable federally registered trademarks covering the BBX mark and consumers are likely to be confused by RIM’s use of BBX in connection with RIM’s goods and services. -Court

There has been a temporary restraining order granted to BASIS against RIM. The latter didn’t have a choice but to follow the court and change the name. Instead of BBX, the mobile maker will name their upcoming OS with BlackBerry 10.

As announced at DevCon Asia, RIM plans to use the ‘BlackBerry 10′ brand name for its next generation mobile platform, which will bring the best of the BlackBerry and QNX platforms to customers and partners. The BlackBerry 10 name reflects the significance of the new platform and will leverage the global strength of the BlackBerry brand while also aligning perfectly with RIM’s device branding -RIM

“I’m very excited for this BlackBerry 10, it would surely be a hit,” says E. Grant, an avid BlackBerry user who’s into boats for sale in Philippines. Grant owns a BlackBerry smartphone and Playbook that she has been using in her business and personal endeavors.

I get lured easily whenever someone with integral knowledge shares something about a gadget but enough with the basics or the specs as we can always read it from the leaflets or in the internet. What amazes me more is when you can explain comprehensively how the operating system in a particular gadget works in that way I would know what it’s capable of doing.

Too much for this rants or shall I say quandary as Google finally made a place for Android fans and for those who are becoming one thus the birth of the Androidland. It is a 154sm place wherein all of the latest Android gadgets can be found regardless of brands. A place wherein the Android experience is extremely awesome. A place wherein personnel are knowledgeable enough on is an Android all about as Google trained them.

Androidland is located in Bourke Street Melbourne Teltra outlet, the mobile carrier partner of Google in Australia. It is said to be the first ever Androidland in the world. “The entire place is amazing!” says Chris Bech, one of the few who were able to visit the place. Chris Bech owns an android phone and plans to by an android tablet for the holidays.

Practicing Organic Farming in your land will not only produce healthy crops but might as well provide jobs to the locals in the area. Compared to the traditional farming, this one requires more labor thus producing more rural jobs. Profit wise, Organic farming is way profitable compared to the conventional way. Fertilizer and pesticide costs are lesser and consumers tends to pay higher to its products.

That’s why engaging into organic farming is a great investment for retirees. An example would be the organic farm of a real estate and social entrepreneur Chris Bech and his Filipina wife,Theresa. The couple decided to settle in Tablas Island, Romblon, one of the rich islands of the Philippines. With a great background in real estate business, the couple invested in organic farming and later on helped expats manage their retirement funds by engaging in the same business. It’s like hitting a lot of birds with one stone. The expats will be there as investors, locals will be provided with jobs and at the same time the place’s natural beauty will be preserved.

It is one way of escaping the hustle and bustle of the city life, sustaining abundantly at a lesser cost, and most of all living the healthy way.

A major Google Page Rank update has occurred last month, and my PR is now down to 1 from 4. I’m kinda sad, really. But there’s nothing I can do. I only have a few back links, my blog is not updated as often as other blogs, and I have so many outgoing links in my homepage. But I guess that doesn’t really affect (but it’s still a factor) why my PR is down to 1. Anyway, I’m still happy that I’m not penalized to zero.

What I’m going to do now is work, work, and work to increase my PR again. Oh well, this is life and I have to go with it. There’s nothing constant in this world but change. So maybe, someday, my PR will increase, just like my idol Bryan Veloso whose PR is 5. Haha!

The event will take place in the famous MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada Saturday night. That would be Sunday morning in the Philippines wherein the entire nation would be watching. Hotels, cinemas, restaurants and some other establishments are already offering pay per views for everyone along with food and drinks. Those people in the provinces are quite lucky as there rich individuals who are setting up big screens to have Pacquiao vs Mosley live stream for everyone in the street.

Pre-fight press conference already kicked off and both fighters promised everyone for a great fight coming up. No trash talks were heard as what players used to say in other major fights. Aside from the match itself, a lot of things would be completing the spices and beauty of every Super Bowl especially when the media people gets involve. A day before the big event, an NFL Experience fan festival in downtown Dallas took place and in it was this time that the renowned ESPN analyst Desmond Howard told everyone that he is being threatened by the former QB Phil Simms. This has been Howard’s tweet: “At NFL-Xperience and Phil Simms just threatened 2 hit me b/c I said his son was 1 of the worse QBs in the SEC. I told him ‘LET’S GO!’ “. It somewhat clear the reason why Phil Simms has been after him. He further tweeted later that time: “I am DEAD serious about the Phil Simms thing. We all thought he was joking, but he kept going and said he wanted 2 take a swing at me!!”

This is not the first time for Phil Simms to do such thing. Way back 2005, he also went after Steve Young after the former 49ers quarterback made some disparaging remarks about his other QB son, Chris, who was then the quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

No one knows where will this thing lead but one thing is sure to happen before this week ends, the Super Bowl XLV champ would be made known and the whole Super Bowl XLV experience would be fun filled.

Fox will be airing the event live at 6pm ET and Black Eyed Peas would be performing in the half time break. No cheerleaders this year but Fergie is around. Lastly, for those who are relying on sports streaming sites for the Super Bowl 2011 live stream, it would be harder to find a decent one this time as the government just seized the most popular ones for copyright issues.

Before we could get into the main event, being in this kind of sport would mean embracing the inevitable serious injuries that a player can get. It is already part of the game and most of time you’ll just rely on luck to get rid of it. The best players of the team are most often the target of this horrible scenes. Steeler’s Maurkice Pouncey is one example. He has been very good in last week’s AFC championship but was able to caught a fracture in his ankle and a high ankle sprain. Accordingly, a high-ankle sprain can take four to six weeks to heal. Teammate Chris Kemoeatu told reporters that Pouncey is not going to play in the Super Bowl.

Free agent Doug Legursky will replace him and start Super Bowl XLV this coming February 6. He replaced Pouncey in the first quarter of last Sunday’s AFC Championship Game against the New York Jets, and the team did not appear to struggle much with the change at center.

There has been a lot of serious injuries obtained by the players on both teams. Bears’ quarterback Jay Cutler suffered Grade II MCL sprain and wasn’t able to play after the first series of the third quarter. He was flooded with criticisms from twitter and commentators questioning his toughness in leading his team to victory.

On the other hand, Packers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers also experienced a sore shoulder after Sunday’s game. He got it from Bears defensive back Danieal Manning during his 1-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. The team didn’t stressed out how serious the sore was. The team is now getting ready for their up coming big event.
